Types of Siding

Choosing the best type of siding for your home can be a daunting task. We understand that and therefore we believe that the best thing that we can do is give you bits of information about each type of siding. So that you could potentially make a more informed decision. First off the reason that we still see different types of siding on the market today is that different types of siding work better on some buildings than they do in others. There are certain things that go beyond looks and design that you should consider as well!

Vinyl Siding

This is the most popular type of siding out there. With vinyl, you are getting a main component that you know is going to be durable but is also very multi-dimensional in a way. It can easily be molded to fit any type of area that you are going to need to be covered so it can help with major and minor repair jobs as well. The fact that it happens to take color very well also gives it an added boost no doubt. Finally, it is very easy to clean. You can get a high powered hose and pressure wash the surface and obtain great results!

Fiber Cement Siding

This type of siding is also up there as one of the more popular siding options. It can provide a great look and feel to any roof or home. It can give you that wood-like look without needing as much maintenance as wood. So actually for the most part wood sidings are really not a sight that you see a lot of these days. This type of siding is going to need some repainting after about a decade or so. That is not a bad timeline if you were to ask us!

Aluminum Siding

This has actually grown in popularity over the years. That is probably due to its very low cost. It is easy to paint so you can virtually choose any colors that you can think of. For the most part, is not going to require as much maintenance. You are also basically spared from having to worry about mold issues. While it may not be considered one of the more durable siding types its low price and the fact that we can get through an aluminum siding repair service fairly quickly can make it a very viable option.

Brick, Wood, Or Other Options

Using brick siding is going to be extremely durable, still, it sort of limits the amount of design that you can put into your roof. As far as wood goes, it is still a good option if you want to go old school. You are just going to have to be very for heavy maintenance needs. That is one of the reasons why we don’t highly recommend it anymore. We hope though that this information can help you when you ultimately have to make a decision about what you are looking to get done!
